Each wireless access point has a default IP address. If you do not know the IP address that was assigned to the access point, use one of the following options to find the IP address of your access point.

Use the automatic device detection of a Windows-based computer.

  1. Launch File Explorer (or Windows Explorer).
  2. Select Network from the Navigation pane.
  3. Right-click the access point device icon and select Properties.
The access point IP address displays.

Temporarily connect over WiFi and log in.

If your access point is in access point mode:

  1. Temporarily connect to the access point.
You can connect with a computer either though an Ethernet cable or over WiFi or you can connect with a mobile device over WiFi to the access point .
  2. Open a web browser from a computer or mobile device that is connected to the access point network.
  3. Enter https://www.aplogin.net in the address field.
    The Login page displays.
  4. Enter your local device password and click the Login button.
    The Device Status page displays.
In the LAN Information - IPv4 section, the IP Address field displays the IP address that is assigned to the access point.

If your access point is in router mode:

  1. Temporarily connect to the access point.
You can connect with a computer either though an Ethernet cable or over WiFi or you can connect with a mobile device over WiFi to the access point.
  2. Open a web browser from a computer or mobile device that is connected to the access point network.
  3. Enter http://www.routerlogin.net in the address field.
  4. Click the Login button.
The NETGEAR Account Login page displays.
  5. Enter your registered email address and password and click the Login button.
    The BASIC Home page displays.
  6. Select ADVANCED from the menu bar.
    The ADVANCED Home page displays.
  7. In the LAN Port pane, click the CONNECTION STATUS button.
The IP Address field displays the IP address that is assigned to the access point.

Temporarily connect directly over WiFi and ping the access point.

If you already completed the initial log-in, temporarily connect a mobile device over WiFi to the access point and send a ping to https://www.aplogin.net or http://www.routerlogin.net. The steps that you follow to send a ping vary by mobile device. On your mobile device, the field with the ping results displays the IP address that is assigned to the access point.

Use the NETGEAR Insight mobile app.

  1. Connect your mobile device to the access point WiFi network.
  2. Launch the NETGEAR Insight mobile app.
  3. Tap LOG IN.
The IP address of the access point displays in the device list.

Access your existing router or DHCP server.

Access the DHCP server information of your existing router, modem (if the modem functions as a DHCP server), or dedicated DHCP server to see the devices that are connected to it, including the access point. The IP address that is assigned to the access point is listed.

Use a third-party IP scanner.

Use an IP scanner application (they are available free of charge on the Internet) in the network of your existing router. The IP scanner results include the IP address that is assigned to the access point.
