Why We Think This is the Best Guacamole Recipe!
Our guacamole recipe uses simple, high-quality ingredients that add a lot of flavor without a lot of fuss. Tomato, red onion, jalapeno peppers (if you like things spicy), cilantro, green onion, and a squeeze of fresh lime juice add the most amazing flavor and texture to the avocado.
Our Favorite Guacamole Variations
While we love this recipe as is, there are a few ways to make this guacamole recipe your own!
- A tropical twist: Dice a mango or pineapple and gently stir it into the guacamole for a bright, fresh, and tropical spin.
- A smoky, spicy kick: Add a tablespoon of diced chipotle pepper to adobo sauce.
- Roasted corn: If you’re making this guacamole in the summer when fresh sweet corn is available, lightly char a corn cob on the grill and shave a few tablespoons of corn into the guacamole.
- Make a loaded guacamole: Add black beans, corn, extra tomatoes, and diced bell peppers.
- Roasted garlic: stir a few roasted garlic cloves into the guacamole for a kick of garlic in every bite!

Storing Tips
While freshly made guacamole is always best, you can store this recipe and keep it fresh for up to two days with our fool-proof storage method.
- Put the leftover guacamole in a glass container and smooth out the top so the surface is flat and all the dip is pressed into the container.
- Pour a small amount of water on the top of the guacamole, just so it covers the surface. This helps prevent air from getting to the guacamole, which will turn it brown.
- Cover the dish with plastic wrap, pressing it down just slightly to the top of the guacamole. Then cover the bowl with a lid.
- When you’re ready to enjoy your guac again, just remove the plastic, gently pour off the water, and give it a stir!
