Adaline (Lively) shows resilience, and her daughter, Flemming (Ellen Burstyn), is caring. There are some passionate kisses and a couple of love scenes (which don't show much more than a woman's bare shoulders and a man's bare chest), as well as infrequent language ("s--t," "hell," "goddamn").

It's actually becoming redundant and to be frank not always beautifully used as it should be. But Adaline is a good exception and this beautiful story will let you shed some tears and give you a warm feeling that life has many beautiful things to offer so we have to enjoy every opportunity given to our eyes.

I've read a number of dark romances, but I would not recommend this to anyone under the age of 21 or someone who has an extremely strong stomach. The romance was interesting, the writing was well written, the characters were interesting, but the extremely rough subject matter made it hard to enjoy.

In the film, Lively plays the titular Adaline, a woman born in 1908 who, after crashing her car during a lightning storm, becomes stuck at the age of 29.

Some men will enjoy The Age of Adaline but the romance and story are true Chick Flick material.

The performances by Blake Lively (as the main character, Adaline) and Harrison Ford were excellent. They left a lasting impression that matched the theme and made the film memorable for me. The acting is better than most similar romance films.
